Tumut as Rnd 5 of NSW ERS?
From NSW Rally Panel...
Quote:
Hi Everyone,
As you will be aware by now, the Tour of Knodingbul, which was to be the fourth round of the DRS/ERS has unfortunately been cancelled. As a result, the DRS/ERS for 2014 has been reduced from five rounds to four.
With five rounds in the series, competitors all had the opportunity to drop one round, so that their best four rounds would count in the final allocation of points for the year. Losing the Tour of Knodingbul means now that all four rounds of the DRS/ERS must count - VSport Stages, Coopernook Forest Sprint, Myall Stages Rally and Bathurst Rally (on 27 September 2014).
The proposal has been put to the NSW Rally Panel to consider running the fifth and final round of the DRS/ERS alongside the fourth round of the NSWRC at the Tumut Rally on 18th October.
At this early stage, it is proposed that the DRS/ERS will be slightly shorter than the NSWRC; finishing one or two stages earlier. The entry fees will therefore be slightly less for the DRS/ERS. The organisers have also agreed to run the DRS/ERS field separately from the NSWRC field, in a similar way to how the VSport Stages was separated from the Rally of the Bay in June.
Before making a decision on this matter, the NSW Rally Panel seeks your opinion as a registered competitor of the DRS/ERS. In particular, we ask that you consider the following questions:
Would you consider competing at Tumut Rally if it was made the fifth round of the DRS/ERS?
Do you have any concerns with the Tumut Rally becoming the fifth and final round of the DRS/ERS?
We would appreciate if you could reply with your thoughts on this matter urgently, and by 5pm, Friday 22nd August, 2014 at the latest.
Thank you very much for your time.
